Do you really need to open multiple franchises to open a golden spoon, or can you start with just one?

I would like to open ONE Golden Spoon, but it seems like I have to sign on for multiple franchises. Also, will Golden Spoon allow franchise development on the East Coast?

1. Yep, minimum 3 stores and they seem to like 10. http://www.goldenspoonfranchising.com/franchise_criteria.asp They seem to be almost 100% West Coast. So either you are going to get screwed by opening them on the East Coast (because you won't be getting any of the West Cost advertising benefit) or they will simply not allow you to open them there. If it is the later at least they are honest.
