How much stretching to required to maintain the flexibility achieved after a stretching program?

Im interested if any information exists as to once you achieve a certain level of flexibility after a longterm program of stretching (say one hour a day for 12 months), how quickly do you lose it? Do you have to continue stretching the same amount of time per day (one hour ) or can you decrease it just to maintain the level achieved and not lose the level of flexiblity achieved.
