How can me and my friend play our Madden '10 offline franchises against each other from two different ps3's?

We want to play our Madden franchises against each other but on one console. This used to be easy with ps2 cuz I just plug my memory card in his ps2 & export mine to play. Is this possible with ps3 & if so how do we go about doing this?
