Why does it take nearly a week to receive payments although the agency has received the payment from parent?

My childsupport is always paid by absentee parent N.L.T the first of each month via wages garnishment. Although the payment is received by the 1st of month, there have been times when the payment was not alloted out to be received by parent until around 7 to 10 days later. A couple of times later. I understand there may be holidays or weekends to take into consideration but even if there are no holidays it may still take alot of days before being sent out. Some parents work full time but it is still not enough to support the family and until payment is received many bills will not be paid or food will not be bought. Not to mention late fees that may accumulate because of late payments being sent out. The recording states that it may take two business days to be processed or sent out after payment is received but many times it is more like 7 days not to include weekends before payment is sent.

  1. Please take this complaint to the agency that handles the receipt and disbursement of those funds. How could the users here on Y!A be expected to assist, for cyrin' out loud?
  2. you know what l think it is, is they build interest on your money,
  3. It takes time to process the child support. I know mine appears quicker since I switched to the debit card (through Florida) and others have said it hits their bank accounts quicker through direct deposit. With any sort of payroll department it takes a couple of days to process monies. And then you have to wait for snail mail. Like with a paycheck you should budget when you believe you will get it (give it a week) and not on the day it is paid. Most bills (besides rent) are typically not due on the first.
