What can happen if an arbitration award isnt complied with?
Like, if someone refuses to go with what the award is? How can it be enforced?

- The person who won the arbitration award goes to a regular court and files for a judgment based on the award. That person then is entitled to the full range of enforcement mechanisms available through the state, including liens, getting the sheriff involved, etc. The losing party has some rights - the procedure varies from state to state, but generally speaking, the loser can argue to the state court that there was some impropriety in the arbitration proceedings, and the arbitration award should be vacated. However, in most states, it is incredibly tough to get a binding arbitration award reversed.
