In the MLB, if you are arbitration eligible and traded, what happens?

Let's say that you are under contract, but in your contract you are arbitration eligible because of years of service, but then you get traded. Does your new team give you a new offer and you choose to accept or go to an arbitrator, do they try to sign you to a new contract? What exactly happens?

  1. It depends. Usually your new team would give you a new offer and you would be given the option of going to an arbitrator. You pretty much got it right
  2. you're still arbitration eligible, but for the team that you were traded too, unless you're non tendered.
  3. You're still arbitration eleigible, unless you are non-tendered. (not offered a contract).
