Is any prior music knowledge needed to go to production school? I want to go to the LA Film School for music production. I got a $20,000 scholarship and use $9,000 to pay off the loans that I owe for the graphic design degree I am getting in June. I dont want the $11,000 to go to waste so I want to use it for education or I have to return the money. Please help. Thanks!

Music Production!?!?!?!? I was suppose to go to college to become a pilot and the loan fell through the day before I was suppose to go. I have had time to figure out what I really want to do. Music has always been my passion, and my goal is to become a music producer! What school for music production? Ok, i live in dallas texas, and i really love to do music. I want to go to school for music. Not like music theory and jazz studies and stuff like that, but i want to go into the more technical side, more like recording, producing, and more of the business aspect. Ive been looking at schools, and most traditional universities music majors are more like classical stuff and more of a history of music.
