Oil Production Knowledge Base
what is the difference in energy used for oil production and energy used for ethanol production? you never hear about how much energy it takes for oil discovery, refining and distribution and the continuing damage to the environment. ethanol on the other hand is accused of being inefficient, increasing food costs. it is renewable and is not destroying the environment. ethanol production is becoming more and more efficient every day. many processes were not very efficient when they were first discovered and took time to refine and make more productive. lets not abandon something that provides a part of the large puzzel of energy independance from dictator countries that hate our guts and want to kill us. we must try and find other sources of energy or we will have no choice but to continue to send billions of dollars out of our country. what if our oil imports are cut off, what will we do? i know well, the food vs. fuel debate. but the facts are that there is plenty of grain and areas to produce it for food and fuel and corn production is not destroying the environment.
How do I stop oil production in my pores? This yellow, cream-looking oil inside my pores eventually erupts on skin that become whiteheads. I am using pore conditioning toner for some time now but still the pores don't completely close because after some time oil inside the pores accumulate and erupts as whiteheads. Is there a way to completely stop the production of oil inside the pores? I'm ugly already and these whiteheads are making me more ugly. LOL
What do you think about OPEC reducing oil production to increase prices? "The price of oil fell today to just above the two-year low set last week after Japan, the world's second-largest economy, formally entered recession." http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/economics/article5170555.ece Is this fair, every time we as a nation conserve and use less oil, is OPEC just going to reduce production over and over?
OPEC have threaten to cut oil production to sustain their price, what do you think? I think if they cut production and keep their price up, with our economy at the bottom i don't think they are going to make more money anyway. Because less people are going to afford buying it. What they need to do is cut their price to support the economy. But since they only think about their pockets they can do whatever they want. They can even cut off oil to the world and see how they fair. We will find other sources of fuel and the OPEC will have to drink their oil.
Oil Production in Mexico is Decreasing, What Could be the Consequences ? Mexican Corporation PEMEX has reported that they are going to use new techniques of oil extraction to curb the declining oil production at Cantarell field. They have also reported that the production(output) will continue to decrease at the rate of 10% per year. The known facts are: * Cantarell field provides almost half of it's revenues to Mexican Government. *Mexican government derives 40% of it's income from oil. *More than 10% of US oil imports come from Mexico (3rd largest supplier to US). Anyways what could be potential consequences to the decline in Mexican oil production based upon above facts ?. Besides the imminent increase in price, what could be other consequences that US faces ?. Will decrease in Mexican government's revenue indirectly have an effect on US ?. What can we do to address these consequences ?. Please be as specific as you can. I will really appreciate your input.
How does OPEC reducing oil production affect the US election? With OPEC announcing it will reduce oil production by 500000 barrels a day to insure prices stay over $100 how will that affect the election? Does this change anyones stance on drilling offshore knowing that OPEC will simply reduce the amount of oil they are producing to keep prices high? http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=94449419
Is the oil production going to peak shortly or is it a hoax? In the last half a century, the world has seen many predictions on oil production peaking out turning out to be false. Every time economies have responded with new fields being explored. The current estimates of recoverable reserves have been increased with each exploration. I want to know whether it is going to last another 25-35 years, so that world can smooth out from an oil dependent economy into a non oil dependent economy.

How will a production cut by opec affect oil stocks? If opec decides to cut oil production, since crude oil prices are below $60. How will this impact future/present oil stock earnings ex. xom, chev, axas, apl? I've also learned Russia has bout 25% of the worlds oil, and now they are extremely upset
Reducing oil production of the face? Answers why it is so? I have really oily skin...like a good 20 minutes after my shower it looks shiny and oily without doing anything. i wash my face 2 or 3 times a day and use proactive and occasionally doctor's perscribed acne cream. I dont have bad acne at all, just a bit. Does anyone know why my oil glands are so incredibly active all the time, and how i can reduce the oil production? Simply washing my face and using acne cream is not working. thank you for you help.
Should Iraq be partitioned to pay back the US for the $400 billion cost of the war in future oil production? Furthermore, if our troops are to remain in Iraq for Middle East security reasons, should the United States also be paid by Iraq for the cost of such future presence in oil and also be given a right of first refusal at market rates on all future Iraqi oil production? As part of that process should Iraq and its oil production be partitioned among the Sunni, Shia, and Kurds with the Shia to govern themselves and Saudi Arabia as protector of the Sunni and the United States as protector of the Kurds with our troops based in the Kurd sector ready to respond where needed in the Middle East as well as to protect this partition? The deadline for this partition should be no more than 18 months and then US troop levels could probably be cut substantially under this scenario.
What is the news on Iran cutting oil production? Someone told me, "in a few weeks time Iran will stop exporting oil to the US to mess up its economy even more, for revenge of the nuclear program." On the news I saw "Iran will cut down production due to 13-month low prices by 500,000 barrels a day" I dont know which one to believe, is there an inside story or detailed explanation of what is REALLY happening? how is Israel going to take care of Iran?
Hair loss due to excessive oil production on scalp? My hair falls off easily. I KNOW it's because I got the weird gene from my dad so my scalp produce excessive oil, which clogs pores and perpetuating hair loss. My scalp gets so oily that there are occasional acne, and when I massage my scalp, I can feel like I am pushing away clumps of oil. So my question is: Do you have this problem too? If yes, can you recommend me a good shampoo product to minimize oil production? I used to use a shampoo with salicylic acid in it but it's discontinued.
Can you actually PREVENT face oil production? with proactiv daily oil control? I mean, I know about the oil absorbing sheets but is it possible to actually prevent the oil production in the first place? any products that do? or do i need to see a dermotologist?
Should we nationalize Oil production for the US Military? I am a free market conservative thinker. However, I think the US government should drill, refine and supply their own oil for military uses only (without buying it on the open market); essentially nationalizing oil for military consumption. Would this have the effect of helping to reduce the price of a barrel of oil?
Will increased domestic oil production impact prices or supply? OK, do we need a little realism here? The U.S. is not one of the world's major oil producers. So, what will the small boost in domestic production do? Sure we can drill offshore, but there is no guarantee that we will find oil. And what guarantee is there that whatever oil is found won't just be exported and sold overseas? The dollar is weak right now, making U.S. oil attractive to foreign buyers. Do people think that increased oil output here will have a significant effect on the world supply or global prices??
How can I cut down on oil production in my body? I am guessing that my body produces large amounts of oil because my hair get greasy quickly and my skin is always oily. I would like to solve the problem so i don't have to wash my hair everyday and maybe to resolve my acne. Please and thank you!
When will the world reach the point of maximum oil production? I did a little research on this question but seems that there is no real answer. One site predicted somewhere between 2010 and 2025. The reason why this is important is that when it happens you will start to see the price of oil start to rising quickly.
How do I stop oil production on my face? Is there a way to completely stop it with home remedies without moisturizing my face a lot like by covering my face with tissues or something?! Everytime I finish washing my face all the oil keeps on coming out visibly from my pores in less than an hour!!! It's driving me hectic!!! argh!!!
What will happen when we reach the peak of world oil production? What will happen to civilization when oil refinement reaches its peak, but demand for oil continues to grow? This will certainly happen one day. And while Western nations may use alternative energy sources, other countries many not.. Here is a link to an interesting article on the subject. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olduvai_theory
What is the EROEI for photosynthetic algal oil production? I've seen that many discussions focus on different methods, and I realize that affects the EROEI, but what is the traditionally accepted, or standard view on EROEI (energy returned over energy invested) for algal oil? I was under the impression that it was well over 1, but, someone said it wasn't, and now I'm curious.
Is it feasible to start my own olive oil production as a living? I live in New Zealand, and noticed that there seem to be almost no locally produced olive oils here. I am originally from Europe and I love olives and olive oil. Now I'm thinking, "what if I had my own oil mill and bottling plant?" It's easy to get olives, and bottles. And everybody here uses olive oil, so I think I could sell it. But would I need to be really wealthy to pull this off? I'm a lecturer and not exactly printing my own money. But I could see myself doing this in ten to twenty years or so. What would you say I should do?

What do you think about lowering OIL production? By 1.5 million barrels a day. OILERS agreed to do this to stop oil prices from falling more than they have in the history of the world. Stopping the drop of oil price while the rest of the economy continues to go down the toilet. Is that lowering supply to increase demand? there for PRICE FIXING? I thought that was against the LAW? Did I missed something here? other than the fact that my life could be in danger?
Does intense exercise help acne and reduce oil production? I used to exercise daily.. and i do lots of lifts and presses basically work myself to the done and sweat all over, of course i take shower right after. anyway... i've been pretty lazy and always lay around and not doing much.. i find that when i do exercise, i don't get any acne or have oily face as i am now. What year does Peak Oil Production supposed to occur? I looked at a few blurbs and there seems to be some debate, the most optimistic say 2030, why would this date not be known? Is there not enough technology out there to predict this with some accuracy since the most optimistic figures say in approximately 25 years?
