What exercises and/or stretches can I do for sore knees from golf? I literally golf 40-50 hours a week during non winter months. The muscles right on the inside of my knee starts to get pretty sore. It's tolerable right now, but I would like to do some stretches and exercises to improve this. What could I do? It starts at about the inner side of my knee and extends down the leg a little bit. I also don't have much flexibility in my hips (yet, I'm going to work on it), so could this be causing it too? I am only 16 years old.

Possible affect of driver shaft flexibility rating on a golf swing? I own a slazenger driver with a 65 kilogram uniflex shaft. Upon observing the face of the club I see that all of the ball marks are on the heel of the club head. Today i took 10-15 swings with a stiff shafted taylormade burner and saw that all of the hits were on the center of the head. I am curious if it is possible that the speed of my swing combined with the uniflex shaft is causing me to hit the ball on a bad spot of the club while a swing with a stiff shaft is causing a perfect hit.
Which requires more flexibility? Help me end a debate I am having with a friend by telling me what you think requires more flexibility: Golf or Basketball.

at what age is a professional golf player at his best!? i was just watching the john deere classic and they showed comparissons of the winningest players under 30 yrs of age...and the top ranked guys only had 2 wins apiece... so when is it that strength flexibility and know-how all come to gether to produce a winner?
Is my golf pro correct? I've recently been taking lessons from a pro at my local golf course. He has given me great advise and my score has gone down. I have one issue that I feel he may be wrong with but obviously who am I to judge him, so I would like your advise: I am tall/athletic build with "okay" flexibility. The golf pro keeps making me take a full swing, but i feel i'm over-extending my left arm because I am not very flexible (which I have told him). This makes me very inconsistant with my shots. If I take a 3/4 swing, I usually hit it much cleaner so obviously I want this to be my "normal" swing. I don't want to go against a pro's advise, but if a 3/4 swing works for me why should I force myself to do a full swing? I can hit my 7 iron 150 with a 3/4 swing, so distance shouldn't be an issue. Advise? 1) I'm not "bragging" about hitting a 7 iron 150. I am fully aware that is not impressive, I am only giving people a reference point 2) I do not lift weights, or work out at all. I am merely telling you what the pro is saying to me. 3) I'm sure everyone is impressed if you can hit a 9 iron 150 yards, me personally, i could care less. 4) If you want to help me by answering my question instead of being a self centered prick, that would be helpful, thanks.
What to look for in golf shoes (ladies)? I've tried on about 15 different styles and don't find any of them very comfortable. The most comfortable pair has synthetic uppers which concerns me - I prefer leather for its flexibility and comfort, and I would imagine the synthetic shoes get hotter as well. I've tried all the style I can find in Cape Town - the range is v. limited. There seem to be some great shoes online but of course you can't try on. Pls help.
Golf Workout Book or DvD? Hey, does anyone know of a good workout video or book that will help both my golf game and to get in better shape? Right now I alternate each day between running and lifting, but I am looking for something that will improve my golf game and especially my flexibility. Thanks.
Two Quick Golf Questions? 1.) Anyone use the 12 inch rule? I read about it in Golf Magazine and it said that the ideal distance between elbows should be 12 inches, when you line up to hit the ball. 2.) I also read in golf magazine that people who can't bend there arms at least 6 inches behind there head when standing upright shouldn't be making a complete golf swing, as it is incorrect. How do you increase the flexibility of the shoulders and arms? Any good drills?

Are Longest Golf Drive Radar Machines Accurate? Okay I have a question for all you golfers out their that play all the time. Okay I was at a golf show that they bring once a year to the city I live in. They sell stuff used and new. They have golf contest like longest putt, longest drive, and so forth. Anyways I was siked to do the longest drive contest because I can hit pretty good ball. I hit usually always over 300+ on the driving ranges. I am around 6'0 foot tall. I workout for hockey season all year round lifting weights. I have very athletic body built with alot of flexibility. I have very fast club head speed and am very flexible then most people are. Now I know that all that stuff doesn't really matter in golf because their is guys out of shape and the age of 65 that can play golf well because of their knowledge but I know for a fact that I got a hell of a swing when it comes to driving the ball or doing a massive slap shot. I can just generally swing harder then most people can. So what I did was before i went to enter the contest I demo some clubs to warm up. I was hitting and feeling great. I felt ready for contest now so I went up to sign up and I am watching the other guys hitting the balls. Their was really fat dudes with mediocre swing speed hitting it 320+. I am thinking what the hell. Those guys making it look so easy their not even swinging that fast nor their posture doesn't looks that good ether yet their getting 320+ off the machine. Then I got my balls and I picked out the lowest degree and stiffest driver I could get my hands. I went to the tee and warmed up some before I hit my 6 balls. As i was warming up I could tell no one has my powerful like swing I could produce. I was watching the others getting 300 even at least. So begin to take my first shot. I hit the ball hard but not the hardest just to feel out the driver first. I step back to see what radar machine says the shot is. It says 277..... So I am like okay hmm.... Now I am gonna jack the ball this time. I flex as perfect and as far as I could with perfect form and usually very similar style to tiger woods come through on the drive. I hit the ball with perfect contact and came through then check the score and guess what it said.... I got a 230....????. So I begin to laugh and I am thinking is this machine broken or am I swinging so hard that the machine can't pick up my club speed on contact with the ball. Then I took another swing exactly the same. It says 230 something again. I was clueless sitting their with my last 3 balls trying to figure out what the hell is going on. Their is people hitting next to me that no way in their life could they out drive me on real driving range beating me right now on this machine. Then their was people behind me watching me thinking same thing I was. Maybe the machine isn't picking up my shots because I am swinging so fast. Some people were saying try to swing normal speed shoot and see what it detects. So I ran out of ideas and took the person advice and it said basically the score as before. Then I stop to look at other golfers and to truly see how the hell are they getting 300+ on these machines. Their was a guy had to look like he was 70 years old. I shit you not the machine was saying 290 on his drives and he had the form of a old Arny Palmer with a half swing. After I was done, I went up to one of the guys that were working in that section. I said what is with these machines while I was laughing and feeling clueless at same time. He then tells me. Their no way how nice you hit the golf ball on the driving range or how fast your club speed can go unless you hit dead on with the sweet spot of the driver. Then that made so much sense to me because alot my shots were half way in the sweet spot. But still I could hit a off shoot and make it go 280 yards easy on a driving range. Hell I could hit my dam 5 iron 200+ years hahah and the machine saying my drives are 220-230 please...... Well if you guys read this and reply to me I would love to hear your response on these radar machines. I am really clueless to understand how these things work. Because I can bet my life on it I drive a ball much further then 230 yards hahahah. Sorry about the grammar I am really lazy right now. I think you guys need to come to a driving range with me haha. I put them in woods with ease. I am just being honest. If I were on a course I could put ball honestly 295 in air and with roll move way pass 300+. I just can drive real far if I want to. But like what the first person said. It's only testing your ball spin. I am sure their is a way to cheat the machine and just put on alot of spin. Their was a guy like I said that look older then dirt, I mean guy look like he was gonna fall over and die right their hitting it 290 on the machine and I don't think the guy could hit 200 on a normal course let alone 290. The machines are just another faulty thing that is invented into golf like the training clubs and all the other bs. It would be like if Alex Rodriguez went to try a long drive contest and I think with his built he should at least put up 270 easy. I mean its pretty common sense when your athletically build you have option of getting to 300. Really I don't find it anything brag over getting 300. A nerd could get 300 maybe. Just technique but if I am getting 220 on a machine where I can get that with a friggin iron then i know that's wrong. I mean shit if I am getting 220. Most people should be getting 200 on radar hahaha. I love to see how comparison to everyone's score would be on a real range. Willing to bet it would be ALOT different.
Are swimming and golf a good combination of sports? My mom is a swim coach and so I have been forced to swim competitively since I was 4, I'm now 16. I've been playing golf since I was six but started taking it seriously and competitively three years ago. Swimming at first was good for flexibility in my swing but now it's building too much muscle and I've lost flexibility and swing speed. In the three years I've played I've gotten very good (5 Handicap). I personally believe with the the next few years that I can become a scratch golfer and play in a high ranked D 1 golf school. Swimming has hurt both of my knees and currently the arch of my left foot so I can't properly finish my golf swing. It's also a time consumer taking up two hours of my day and sometimes more depending if there is a swim meet that day. I I see a pro in Cincinnati every few months and my swing from his observations using the video equipment is very balanced and under control. I hurt my left foot in practice doing breastroke kick from tightening my foot too much. My knees aren't very flexible from genetics and I have to force them to move in swimming. It's not leisure swimming it's hardcore competitive.

What exercises can i do to improve my posture for golf? In my own golf swing, I have consistently noticed that i have a very upright posture (even with my wedges and putter lol!), even though my weight is evenly distributed between the balls of my feet. Therefore, what exercises or drills can i do that involve both strength and flexibility? I personally am an ambitious and slightly competitive teenager, looking to improve my own personal game (particularly with my long game). Thanks... For your information, i actually have an in to out swing path anyways, which can cause a few good shots and some inconsistencies..

What do YOU consider a "sport"? I consider a sport something along the lines of: - if you are able to have a physical injury - if you have a competitor - if you practice more than 5 hours a week - if you have to have some sort of athletic ability (dancing, flexibility, height, speed, etc...) I think that Danceguard/ colorguard, cheerleading, song, gumnastics, basketball, baseball, football, golf, track, soccer, tennis and more are sports. what do you guys think?
What cross training exercises ...? .. do you do to improve the flexibility, balance, strength, endurance and power for your golf swing?
Can anybody suggest a good kettlebell workout? I'm an experienced lifter, but its time to throttle down on some of the powerlifting I've done. I won't cut out the lifting completely, but I'm looking for something that will assist my functional strength, flexibility, fat loss, and quickness for golf (seriously). Thanks. I can do snatch. With the Farmer's Walk, would I handle the heaviest kettle on the rack with one hand or both (in terms of effectiveness)? How would I do the Press? The video didn't come up. The video comment was meant for something else. Sorry.
Fitness program plan help? The golden years have finally arrived and you are one of the lucky ones. You are now 75 years old. Because of the example you have set, your children and grandchildren have developed great fitness lifestyles and want you to be active with them. You play a modified game of tennis and can hold your own on the golf course. However, the osteoarthritis affecting most your age has started to make a difference in your flexibility and strength preventing you from completing the once vigorous workout you enjoyed. Time and money are no problem although you are not willing to hire a trainer. You invested well and retired early. Because you enjoy traveling, you spend 7-10 days each month on a plane, in the car, or on a cruise ship. In addition, eating out so often has ruined the nutritious diet you once enjoyed. Your weight fluctuates between 160-170 (men) and 120-130 (women). What fitness and nutrition plans could you make to improve your fitness lifestyle? Develop a daily menu plan and a worjout plan for one week. Your workout plan should include the following: -warming up -flexibility -cardio -strength -cooling down I did develop the daily menu plan, but I have no idea how to make a workout program for a 75-years-old. Can someone help me? Thank you!

is dance something you can pick back up again fairly quickly? I started dance when I was 2 and danced till I was 10. I pretty much lived at the studio. I did competitions and was very good for my age. I got burnt out and decided to "quit" dance, I took up sports and have been playing flag football, golf, cross-country, etc. I'm now 13 (almost 14). I've pretty much lost my flexibility, haha. Anyway, I was thinking about picking up dance this summer or in the fall. Is it pretty easy to pick back up again or will I need to start from the basics?
