Flexibility Stretches.? I am trying to get more flexibility, I thought about trying yoga, but I dont want to go to a class. Does anyone know of a good website or book I can get that has beginners stretches, I need the most basic thing there is, I have almost no flexibility.
flexibility stretches?!? im a gymnast, so im very flexible, but i'd love to be even more flexible! any pictures/videos/good explainations of new stretches for back & leg flexibility (besides boring, obvious ones likes splits & bridges) would ge great. gracias :D
Flexibility stretches to help with dance? Hey, I'm in a little crisis I took dancing off for quite a while and my friend wants me to help her out with a routine. I'm currently not flexible at all and I would like to work that back up to par before my audition in November. What stretches can I do to gain flexibility to dance? I used to dance when I was a kid, but quit. I took ballet 1 this year as a PE class at my school, and now I want to dance more. The only problem is that I am extremely inflexible. When I do the splits forward I have to sit on one knee, and sideways I can barely do 90 degrees. What stretches can I do to help me gain flexibility if I stretch a lot over the summer?
Stretches to gain flexibility for the splits: Am I trying too hard? I'm trying to get more flexibility in my legs but everytime I do stretches, for the next few days my muscles are sore and I end up having even less flexibility in the following days. Am I trying too hard? Should I take it slower? Any tips on stretching for flexibility are welcome!!

Stretches to increase hamstring flexibility after an injury? About 2 months ago I pretty badly pulled my right hamstring when I went into a split without fully stretching before. I just finished my physical therapy program last week, and my hamstring is supposedly fully healed. But I lack the flexibility I had before the injury, and my first dance competition of the season is in 2 weeks. Do you know of any stretches I could do that wouldn't over-exert my newly healed hamstring but would help me re-gain my flexibility quickly? Thanks!

What are some stretches to increase flexibility? Hey, I'm a guy and I was wondering how to do a splits and become way more flexible? I don't do any other sport besides football and wrestling, so I don't think I'm very flexible. What are like, a bunch of stretches I can do? I don't want to do cheerleading, gynmastics or anything. uh, not so much for the splits man, as I want to just increase my range of motion and lessen my chances of injury. I messed up my shoulders during wrestling, I don't want to do it again this year.
What Are Some Good Stretches To Do For Flexibility? I wanna get more flexible on the ice, and do lower dips and more shoot the ducks. I'm not really flexible and when I do a dip my butt is sticking out in the air, and it's really embarassing to do. What are some stretches I could do to help me? Has anyone got any stretches to improve flexibility? I have been dancing since I was little and have always had really bad flexibility :-( I couldn't improve coz I rode horses and it can be dangerous to be flexible when jumping. However I have quit horses and really need to improve fast in flexibility for an upcoming exam. PLEASE HELP ME!!! I do ballet, tap, modern/jazz and contempory!!! Thanks :-)
Ballet stretches to increase flexibility? Hi! I took ballet for five years during high school and my first year of college. During those years, I struggled with flexibility. After five years, I STILL could not do a split. I stopped taking ballet for about four years, and have just picked it up again recently. Does anyone know any good stretches that will help me gain flexibility in my "bands of steel" muscles? Thanks!
Best stretches for increasing flexibility fast (im a dancer)? I'm a dancer and need to get better back flexibility! Please describe some stretches that would help me fast...Also my hips are not very open at all (my strattle is terrible), so what are some stretches besides the basic "sit w/ your legs apart and stretch forward" that would help me? And if you can, what are some good abdominal exercises that won't hurt my back and won't require any equipment? Thank you!
What are good BEGINNER stretches for back flexibility.? I can't even BEGIN to arch my back. I can bend over forward and fall asleep that way, but ask me to lay on my stomach and grab my ankles? You're kidding me - I can barely grab one, and that's only because I can twist sideways. I'm 47, in otherwise too-fat shape but am somewhat active, generally speaking, other than spending my life sitting in front of a computer.
Why does it hurt so bad to do stretches that increase my flexibility? I want to be a cheerleader and right now I am working on a split. Stretches for flexibility in cheerleading? so this year i made it onto my high school team for cheer, and i'm a flyer. i have a scorpion, but i struggle to get into it sometimes. i want to increase my leg/back flexibility. any suggestions? i have both left&right splits but not the middle.
what stretches can a 21 year old guy do to gain the flexibility to do the splits? I am a 21 year old mail, getting ready to start ballet lessons in about a month, and I want to be able to do the splits. I am 6'8" tall and weigh 180 pounds, so pretty skinny, so kinda flexible already. Does anyone know any good exercises/stretches to help gain back flexibility? ? So after 12 years of martial arts training I suffered a severe knee injury and had to have several surgeries and a lot of work done to both of my knees. Now, (about a year later) I'm just starting to get back into karate but I've lost almost all of the flexibility in my legs. Does anyone know any good stretches/exercises that would help me gain back my flexibility but doesn't put too much strain on the knees?
Hip flexibility exercises/stretches? hey i do brazilian jiu jitsu (a grappling martial art) and in not that flexible, i know it will improve my game if i can increase my hip flexibility so if you know any really good stretches/exercises for me to do on a daily basis please post them, thanks a lot!

Are there any certain stretches I could do to improve flexibility in my legs, without injuring anything!? I am 15 years old, I am considering taking ballet, as I have heard from several girls in ballet they believe it's not too late of an age to start, but it takes great dedication! But if it did end up being my thing, I would most deffinently be dedicated enough, but in the mean time, I was wondering if there is any certain stretching techniques any one could teach me in a few steps, also good for tennis! What are some important stretches when wanting to jump higher? List a bunch of stretches basketball players use in order to help improve flexibility in their range of motion for jumping? I heard for most people who are close to dunking or a few inches away from dunking. Sometimes all they need to do is improve on their flexibility by stretching more harder for more flexibility giving them better range of motion. Anybody know any stretches that the basketball players use to improve their range of motion for jumping?
Specific Dance Flexibility Stretches? I have dance auditions in august, and i need specific parts of my body stretched so that i can excecute certain techniques and please, im asking, no book , class, tape suggestions. those things cost money. Also, nothing that may have dance equipment, a dance barre or a partner in it. i cant obtain those things right now, and my friends dont do dance, they dont like it, and they have lives and jobs of their own. Honestly, i need stretches to/for 1. open my pelvis (for splits, toe touches) 2. an arabesque 3. behind the thighs 4. the inner thighs 5. the thigh 6. do very high leg kicks 7. do extensions 8. do toe touches also how do you do switch leaps? what i mean is how do you work up to do them

Whats the best way to gain flexibility? I want to increase my overall flexibility. I stretch on a daily basis. Should i hold stretches for longer? Should i stretch further so it hurts? Should i strech several times a day? On a scale of 1 to 5 (1 being feel pretty much nothing & 5 being feeling like your ligaments are going to snap, how far do you go with your stretches.
