During the 2008 presidential election, I supported Republican Sen. John McCain. I have always been — and still am — a fiscal conservative, an advocate for a smart, but restrained, government. For those reasons and others, most people wouldn't expect me to be an advocate for comprehensive health care reform. But the truth is, I believe there is no bigger issue to solve and no better chance to solve it than now. If I were still a member of Congress, I would proudly vote for the bill that President Barack Obama is championing and I would urge my colleagues to do the same, not because I don't believe in fiscal discipline, but because I do. We do not need to look that far down the road to see the pain that failure to pass health care reform will cause. Americans of every background, class, race and political persuasion are suffering. We have the best health care system in the world, yet more than 40 million Americans lack access to it, a reality that is morally reprehensible. Health care is an essential, as important as food, water and shelter. Those who don't have it are left without the tools to survive. In the coming days, Congress has a chance to change that. The bill that will be voted on will reduce the deficit by about $1 trillion over the next two decades, and will reduce waste, fraud and abuse in the health care system. It will slow the rate of growth in health care costs and put America back on the path toward fiscal sustainability. The bill will give families and small business owners greater control over their own health care. It will expand coverage to more than 31 million Americans and will include tax credits to individuals, families and small businesses, giving them the same choices that members of Congress have to purchase private coverage. It will create state-based exchanges that will bring competition and transparency to insurance markets. And it will put in place common-sense rules of the road to hold insurance companies accountable and end some of the most outrageous practices of the insurance industry. Never again will people be denied coverage because they have a pre-existing condition. Never again will insurance companies be able to raise rates unfairly — like the 60 percent hikes expected in Illinois. While the ultimate vote on health care may not be bipartisan, the ultimate bill certainly is. There are several Republican ideas in the bill. It allows Americans to buy health insurance across state lines. It increases the bargaining power of small businesses by allowing them to pool together — much like large corporations or labor unions — to bargain for a better insurance rate. It gives states the flexibility to come up with an alternate health care plan, and it gives them resources to reform our tort system by developing new ways to deal with medical malpractice. I also feel compelled to remind my former colleagues that contrary to what many people have been saying, the bill explicitly prevents federal dollars from being used to fund abortion. It ensures not only that those seeking abortion coverage will be required to pay for it with their own money, but also that their personal money will never be commingled with federal funds. As a former congressman with a 100 percent pro-life voting record, I'm comfortable supporting this bill. There isn't one member of Congress who represents a district that is without a health care crisis. There are good, hardworking men and women in every part of this country who work for a living, but not at a business that offers the opportunity to purchase health insurance. On their own, the cost of insurance is just plain out of reach. During my time in Congress, I was known for reaching across the aisle. I did it not for the sake of bipartisanship alone, but in order to get important things done. Now, my former colleagues have the opportunity to change the lives of their friends and neighbors for the better by voting for health care reform.

An alternative to the socialized medicine the President wants Pillar #1: Access to Coverage for All Americans Makes the purchase of health care financially feasible for all – Extends the income tax deduction (above the line) on health care premiums to those who purchase coverage in the non-group / individual market. And, there is an advanceable, refundable tax credit (on a sliding scale) for low-income individuals to purchase coverage in the non-group / individual market. Covers pre-existing conditions – Grants states incentives to establish high-risk / reinsurance pools. Federal block grants for qualified pools are expanded. Protects employer-sponsored insurance – Individuals can be automatically enrolled in an employer-sponsored plan. Small businesses are given tax incentives for adoption of auto-enrollment. Pillar #2: Coverage is Truly Owned by the Patient Grants greater choice and portability – Gives patients the power to own and control their own health care coverage by allowing for a defined contribution in employer-sponsored plans. This also gives employers more flexibility in the benefits offered. Expands the individual market – Creates pooling mechanisms such as association health plans and individual membership accounts. Individuals are also allowed to shop for health insurance across state lines. Reforms the safety net – Medicaid and SCHIP beneficiaries are given the option of a voucher to purchase private insurance. And states must cover 90% of those below 200% of the federal poverty level before they can expand eligibility levels under Medicaid and SCHIP. Pillar #3: Improve the Health Care Delivery Structure Institutes doctor-led quality measures – Nothing suggested by the Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research can be finalized unless done in consultation with and approved by medical specialty societies. It also establishes performance-based quality measures endorsed by the Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement (PCPI) and physician specialty organizations. Reimburses physicians to ensure continuity of care – Rebases the Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) and establishes two separate conversion factors (baskets) for primary care and all other services. Promotes healthier lifestyles – Allows for employers to offer discounts for healthy habits through wellness and prevention programs. Pillar #4: Rein in Out-of-Control Costs . Therefore the concept of customer service becomes essential to the companies. Customer service can be defined as the process of satisfying customers, meeting or even exceeding their expectations and needs by a company. It also can be classified into procedural and personal encounters. It is really important for NZ organizations to have an excellent customer service because, a satisfied customer will return to the business, tell others of their positive experience, and therefore, a company’s customers and then the profit will increase which leads to a successful business. There are three aspects of customer service that are specifically crucial to a DVD rental shop and they are convenience, flexibility and consistency. The aim of this paper is to explain the importance of the three aspects and also the effects on customers if a company failed to apply them in their service. First of all, people are interested in conserving time and effort to alleviate their problems. So, if a business offers a fast, simple and effective service, consumers will definitely go to them and continue going back. This aspect of customer service is called convenience and as mentioned it is an important element of customer service and necessary for the success of a company. For instance, a customer is referring to a café for breakfast by ordering a specific type of coffee and egg and bacon with toasted bread. A flexible café will provide the consumer with exactly what they asked for not providing them with only one general type of product and service. Conversely, lack of flexibility will have negative results for an organization. Simply, one of the main results will be the closure of that particular company. A good illustration is that, some of the customers of Vista DVD Rentals had cheques or credit cards as their payment for the goods however the shop merely offered cash and EFTPOS system. Obviously the person responsible for the shop ignored the fact that not everyone has the same way of paying for products and risked his business. There is no doubt that the patrons felt uncomfortable, since they were not able to pay with what they already have and decided to stop returning to the same shop.

How is giving you more options in healthcare the same as a 'takeover'? It's still a mystery to me how the bill is being portrayed as a takeover when: - You can't be denied coverage based on a pre-existing condition - You can keep your kids on your policy until they're 26 - The insurance companies can't raise rates without going through a commission first (just like what happens on the state level in my state - and they still raise rates often). - The insurance company can't put a cap on your lifetime benefit - If you don't have insurance (as an individual or business owner), you can join a government pool and get insurance through an exchange. -You don't pay for any of this unless you make over $200k per year ($250 per couple) and even then its not much (starts at $450). -The 'penalty' for no insurance is 1% of your income. Example: You make $30k per year, it's $300. And if you're poor, there are exemptions where you pay nothing. All of that sounds like greater flexibility and changes that have been sorely needed. But I realize the Republicans can't win next time around by mentioning this stuff. Instead, they must smear it as 'government control' and what not. By that logic, forcing credit card companies to quit ripping people off is a form of 'government control' - I guess. Forcing banks to insure deposits through the FIDC is tyranny, I suppose.

Will Hong Kong's worldwide status be much more prominent than Singapore's if it hasnt under China's umbrella? HK's GDP, GDP/capita, business environment/opportunities, Chinese language ability, knowledge on China, freedom of expressions/press/protests/gatherings, ease in setting up companies/doing business, flexibilities, people's persistence/hardworking, long working hours, gift's investments in infrastrutures, transparents of the govt and policies, degree of govt in listening to its people, willingness of HK's media to report on even the most devastated events........so forth are surely much greater in Hong Kong than in Singapore, yet since its return to China, Hong Kong is getting less and less mentioned in the international arena. World prominent leaders like the US President has visited Singapore few times in recent years, giving keynote speeches there which helped to draw tremendous of worldwide publicity/promotions on the small city nation. The US President has not stepped foot in Hong Kong since its return. At the same time and quite on the contrary, certain media and spokesmen inside the mainland time and again deliberately downplay or attack on HK's success particularly the bald headed Commentator, Mr Yuen Chi San of the Phoenix TV who talks more like a leftest of the Central Govt spokesman, with an intention to inform people in the mainland that the gap between the 2 places is not as threatening nor as big as one would have imagined. Don has correctly pointed out that the competition between Hong Kong and Singapore is in reality competitions between the 2 forces, ie US and China acting behind. In case you dont know, Singapore had its systems borrowed from HK after the country was set up back in the 60s. Like China of today, Sing dispatched a lot of its civil servants to go to HK in the 70s and early 80s and to learn HK's govt systems and so forth. HK's ICAC, HKTDC, HKTB, Housing Authority etc are all being copied by the Sing. government.

Match 1, 6 Man Hardcore Title Ladder Qualifying Match: Golden Falcon vs RT With only 2 more superstars needed to fill up the 6 man ladder match for Flashback, Falcon was up against a rather easy challenge. Fans were all behind Falcon and it stayed that way for the entire match. The match picked off when the bell ran. RT and Falcon surrounded each other and RT extended his hand for a handshake. But Falcon quickly hit a spinning heelkick on RT for the immediate advantage. RT was down and Falcon began driving his knees into RT’s gut. The ref pulled Falcon back for a second, and RT sat up. But he was sent back down ad Falcon ran and delivered a knee to his head. Falcon was in full control and he quickly pulled RT up and hit him with a T-bone Suplex. Falcon then looked to the top rope and made his way up where he hit RT with a perfect Moonsault. 1, 2, 3! Falcon got a quick and easy advancement to a Hardcore title match come Flashback! They did so in a fantastic bout. It started off with Kurt and Moshi. The 2 tied up and showcased their styles. Moshi had a very interesting Japanese style while Kurt used his pure wrestling skills. Kurt took down Moshi and Moshi escaped his clutches by utilizing impressive skills to summersault away and make a tag to Risky. Risk came in and knocked Kurt down with a clothesline. Kurt got back up and was sent back down with a 2nd clothesline. Rob came rushing in and was taken down by a spinebuster. Moshi then hopped over the ropes and him and Risky clotheslined Kurt and Rob over the ropes and out of the ring. Fans were on their feet applauding the 2 young superstars, but they didn’t stop their. Risky got on his hands and knees awhile Moshi backed up. Their opponents were slowly reaching their feet on the outside and as soon as they were up Moshi ran across the back of his partner and jumped off his back flying over the top rope and to the outside on Kurt and Rob! Fans reached their feet and went wild as GCW headed to a commercial. When YWWA returned Moshi was trapped in a headlock by Kurt. Moshi couldn’t fight out of it and matters went worse as Kurt made his way to Rob for a tag with the hold still applied. Kurt then hoisted up Moshi in the air as if he was going to hit a back body drop. But Rob springboarded off the top rope and hit a legdrop on Moshi who was in mid air! Fans went wild again and were enjoying this amazing contest! Rob went for a pin but Risky rushed in and made the save. Rob wasn’t able to get the 3, but he still had control and was able to put Moshi in a chin lock. It was held in for a few seconds until Moshi showed great flexibility by extending his leg back to kick Rob’s head 3 times until finally escaping. Moshi escaped and dove for a tag to Risky. Risky came running in again and hit a big back-body drop on Rob followed by a dropkick to Kurt sending him off the apron. Risky went for a pin. 1, 2, kick out. Risky piled together after the 2 and brought Rob to the corner where he hit him with several chops. But after going for a final chop Rob ducked it and hit a springboard kick off the ropes and to Risky! Risky was down and Rob crawled for the pin. 1, 2, kick out! Very close but no 3. Rob wasn’t able to put away Risky so he made his way slowly to Kurt for a tag. Kurt; the most experienced of the 4, ran in with intensity and began stomping down Risky. He pulled him up and sent him back down with a giant german suplex. Moshi came running in and he sent him down with a hip toss. Risky reached his feet and was sent back down by Kurt with a snap suplex. Moshi reached his feet and Kurt grabbed him by the head and threw him out of the ring. Kurt was exploding and the fans both booed and cheered. Fans were split down the middle. Kurt let down his straps and locked Risky in an Ankle Lock! Fans both cheered and rooted on Risky. After nearly 15 long seconds Risky finally reached the ropes. The ref tried to pull of Kurt but Kurt wouldn’t let go. Finally Moshi reached the apron and extended his foot to kick the skull perfectly of Kurt. Kurt was down and out. Risky crawled with all his mite for the pin. 1, 2, Kurt got his foot on the rope! This match couldn’t end! Moshi came in the ring to help up his partner while Rob cheered on Kurt. Moshi and Risky then looked at Rob on the apron and made their way towards Rob. Risky grabbed the neck of Rob and pulled him over the ropes and into the ring making him land on his @ss. Then Moshi kicked the front of Rob and Risky kicked the back at the same time smashing Rob in half. But while their backs were turned they didn’t see Kurt who was already up. Kurt threw Moshi out of the ring again and then hit an Angle Slam on Risky! Angle went for a pin. 1, 2, but then out of nowhere Moshi sprin springboarded from the apron, off the top rope and hit a legdrop on Kurt while Kurt had the pin. I am junior at a University torn between two programs - HR/Education and Business (BBA) - I need advice, fast? I need advice on what I should pursue in college, I am a junior and am torn between education and business. Which route should I take? This question has been tormenting me for about a month now, and I thought I'd have it answered by now. I am very torn in between these two programs: 1. Human Resources and Society with certification to teach economics, geography, history, political science, and english at a secondary level. 2. A Bachelors in Business Administration with specialization in Supply Chain Management and Marketing. Both programs are highly recognized, secondary education coming in first in the nation (U.S.), and the BBA being decent enough (Supply Chain is ranked second in the U.S.). I can see myself being happy with future positions in either category, which is why I'm having such a tough time deciding. In addition, I am a junior and will need an additional 21 credits passed what I need to graduate with the BBA if I choose the education route, which translates to about $8,000. I do have money to pay off some college, though I am expecting moderate debt and that adds onto it. As far as the positions go, I love to teach and would be a great teacher. Especially those subjects I listed. Also, I would be giving a piece of me to the kids I teach which would be very fulfilling. I think it would be a fun job. I also enjoy the idea of having a lot of flexibility in the summer, as well as with weekends and holidays off. On the other hand, I have a knack for making deals and wouldn't mind a higher income (still, freed up time is most important to me). However, I see many studies on people with high hopes who get stuck in corporate hell and hate their jobs (some stats say 84% of Americans hate their jobs!? But I didn't see anything in that regarding educators). I really don't want that to happen to me. Ideally, with a BBA, I would like to be in control of most marketing and supply coordination. Even more ideally, I'd like to use this in the film industry. But those are highly competitive fields and I've been reading a lot of studies on how Americans end up in corporations to hate their corporate jobs. Honestly, it kind of seems like those who don't want to do pre-med or pre-law choose business, and I don't want to get sucked into like that. Would I be able to enter the business realm with this HR and society degree that enables me to teach if I find that teaching isn't the right thing (I have already taken entry business classes to give me the business emphasis for this program)? Is the extra cost worth it (I also have to dedicate another year to student teaching, which also counts for my masters)? If I do pursue the BBA, will the boring class work be worth it (I've heard from many graduates that you learn business in the real world, not through an institution, but wouldn't I need the degree to get my foot in the door because it's highly specialized)? If I do business, should I view work as something you're supposed to dislike, with the purpose of making a buck? All advice/answers are appreciated, but I'd prefer people whom have already graduated in either area as well as an unbiased perspective to answer this question. I am so torn, please help. Your opinion of SHEAMUS? To be totally honest, he is probably one of my favorite wrestlers now. I absolutely hated him at first, but ever since he won his first WWE title, he kind of grew on me. I like his whole Celtic Warrior character. And yes, I know a good deal of a reson why he won the title is because of Triple H. But who the hell gives a $h!t?! Seriously. Even if itg was all on triple h, It's pretty damn impressive and convincing when a rookie, who's only been in the business for two months, makes cena look like a joke. XD I love every second of it. He is obviously the next big thing. What I like most about him is he is one of those new wrestlers that actually have WRESTLING talent. Cool moves, powerful moves, and even very powerful on the mic. Even if his career so far is based off riple h pushing him, he is still a very impressive figure. Oh yeah, let's not forget. triple H isn't so innocent either. The most impressive thing he ever did was sleep with the chairman's daughter. LOL XD. Not hard to become a 13x champ after that. ;] Another thing, going back to last year; even if cena was supposed to win that table match, dont you think sheamus would of lost it right away? But it didn't happen, Sheamus was champion for 2 and a half months. So obviously he got popular very quick, thats why they didnt make him lose it to cena. I love how a like 10 year veteran like cena, a 9x champ, is the B**ch to a 6 month rookie XD lol its great! but, remember; He lost it in a elim, chamber;, that's still pretty impressive for a 2 month rookie. Anyway, bottom line, I think he is the next big thing. I am now a believer with his 2nd title win in such a short time. Randy Orton can't say that. Ric Flair can't even say that. Also, one more thing that makes him imporessive is he's an OLDER rookie, he doesnt have as much flexibility and athleticism as the younger rookies/ young champions like randy orton, youngest champ ever); but sheamus still got it done. a 32 year old rookie is already a 2 time champ. I mean, come on; Who do you think would be more likely to win the title? A 24 year old kid, who is a third generation superstar, the "look", and the experience from evolution. Or, a Irish 32 year old man, with no wrestling family; First generation; A ROOKIE; not to mention a 2 month rookie; and not the biggest amount of athleticism/mobility? Obvioulsy the 24 year old kid. That's what makes Sheamus so impressive, no wrestling background. But anyway. That's just MY opinion. Also, which of his finishers do you like better? What kind of engineer should I be? I am currently a freshman at my university studying Aeronautical Engineering. I've loved aviation ever since I was a kid and have read up on how things fly ever since - it really fascinated my so much that I knew I would want to study Aero in college. The only problem though is that ever since I've gotten to college and studied engineering, I've been quite miserable. I have been staying up many nights to unsightly hours of the morning studying, have pulled many all-nighters, have been very stressed, and have been generally displeased with how little spare time I get for my hobbies or extra-curricular activities (such as volunteering or my club soccer team). I've worked hard before - I graduated from high school with a 3.8 GPA taking all AP classes, so I know what it's like to stay up late and stuff, but it was never like this. On the other hand, I am also quite knowledgeable in comp-sci & information sciences/IT and have always wondered what it would be like to pursue such a field. On campus, the business school handles information sciences with an IT degree, but it also allows flexibility in my schedule as well as business electives for things like business markets, investments, and corporate finance (all subjects I REALLY want to study). The thing is, I don't know which path to go down - both offer really great career opportunities but I feel like I'd have to stick with engineering or else I'd be essentially giving up on a dream. All of the upperclassmen say Aero is all about surviving the first 2 years b/c it gets easier after that, but then again, I don't know if I could (next year will be about 10 times harder class wise). University and being an aspiring actress? I do want to go into University, but I want to act more than anything - whether it be on stage for a local theatre company or a student or indie film. I'm doing something I can't ever imagine not doing. I want to be able to give the very best that I can give, and this is done by getting out there and acting. Experience is the best teacher. I'm always on the look out for the opportunity to grow my skills. I know that most aspiring actors do temp work of some sort because of the flexibility, but can one continue with their acting AND get a degree? I just have this preconceived notion that if I did go to University,I would not be able to devote enough time to building up my resume. Of course I would love to experience University and expand my knowledge, but *nothing* would be worth me giving up what I love. Of course my head is not in the clouds and I know that the chances of ever fulfilling my lifelong ambition and dream are slim - but I am in this for the right reasons - to be able to put my love and soul into acting - I don’t care for fame or appearing in magazines everyday. I know a career in this business isn’t glamorous… no matter what people seem to think. My heart is in the right place, and someone once told me to never EVER give up on something you can't go a day without thinking about, and if It means I die trying at least I can say, I TRIED. You never know when your at the right place at the right time. I don’t plan on not doing anything about this passion and then looking back in 20 years time, wondering why I did’t even try. You don’t get to do what you love by sitting and waiting, great things happen to those who WORK HARD to make things happen. And I’m prepared to work hard, to never give up. Joining the Navy at 31 with a family, bad idea? I am 31 years old, with a wife and two little boys (3 and 1). I made a mess of my education (dropped out of high school and got GED, only finished 16 hours of Junior College) but really need to go back. I have recently been let go by one of the giant banks from a job I enjoyed but refused to give in to the push by upper management to do unethical things to customers to make them look better. So here I am completely turned off by corporate America and motivated to better myself for my family and my future. I want to get back in school, but would really have a hard time paying the bills with any sort of entry level job that I had to work around a class schedule. I see two options in the short term: 1) Start my own business, one of two industries. One would be cleaning out and rehabbing foreclosed homes. I know there is a market out there for it right now, and with my bank contacts I should be able to drum up business. The other is a bowling alley pro shop, which is an industry I am very familiar with. Relationship with a married man: Men's opinion wanted? I know I'm getting a lot of scoldings here, but I need your opinions still... I've met a 40yo married man on his business trip to my country. So this is also a Long Distance parted by the ocean as well. He: married for 12 years with NO kids, had considered divorce many times in past a few years based on different views to family, religion, etc religious christian who goes to the church every other weekend, has stressful but stable job over 10 years, very close to his family especially mother, marriage is sexless for a couple years, never cheated his wife before with me, values ethical behaviors (I know, laugh with me), education, longterm relationship and stability, has very low selfesteeem on his looks and some part of thinking (geeky he says), has very few experience with women but they were very stable, very caring, protective, extremely conservative and lack in flexibility.
